Changing an Assigned Process

Change or remove assignment of a process to a participant.

Modifying a Process Assignment

Prerequisites

A process is already assigned to the participant.

The process is defined in another place, i.e. it is shown as a referencing view for the participant.

Assignment of a process to a participant can only be modified or deleted if the respective view is not a defining view. If this was a defining view, the definition would be lost; this is why Innovator does not allow this.

If you want to modify a process' assignment which is shown as a defining view, you first have to create a new diagram for the definition. The original defining view then becomes the referencing view and assignment can be removed.

How to proceed
  1. Select the participant.
  2. Click on the Select Element button in the Properties window for the Process Reference property.

A window with a selection dialog opens.

  3. Select the process you want and confirm with OK.

The process is assigned to the selected participant. The process is shown as a referencing view if it is defined in another diagram or in the same diagram but for a different participant.

Deleting a Process Assignment

How to proceed
  1. Select the participant.
  2. Click on the Delete Value button in the Properties window for the Process Reference property.

The assignment is removed, the participant is shown as empty again.
